While the palette of colors consists of dark tones or is brightened with satin, the most important note is the use of fur for skirts, shoulders, hems, borders and entire coats in degradé tones.

Can I get a standing ovation for Fendi?

 It wasn’t all that many seasons ago that the brand’s accessories department seemed to be in a bit of a post-Spy Bag aesthetic flux. There were too many logos, too many underdeveloped ideas and too little editing. From the looks of it, the brand has come out of its slump in fine form with Fendi Spring 2011, the brand’s third brilliant major accessories collection in a row. Once is a fluke, twice is a coincidence but three times is a trend – get on the Fendi bus.

For spring, Fendi’s runway accessories are all about incorporating color in a classic way. No bag was graced with fewer than two different shades, and almost all of them incorporated the various colors on leathers of different textures.

Bottega Veneta has released as part of their Fall/Winter 2010 Collection iPhone and iPad cases. Of course the cases come in their signature woven leather looks. 

We just love how the Italian brand does not need to put any logo branding on their product, the simple use of their signature leather is enough.

DIOR MAKES VEGAN SHOES FOR NATALIE PORTMAN

I always think it's wonderful to see big name brands and talented designers rising to the challenge of working with animal-friendly materials, and support any attempts to break the myth that leather is the only 'quality' fabric for shoes.

As far as I'm concerned, Stella McCartney is a legend. So it was really heartening to see that Dior had responded to Natalie Portman's pleas for vegan footwear in her campaign for Miss Dior Cherie perfume.
The fashion house created a pair of vegan heels especially for Natalie, which she wears in promotional material for the scent.

The soft suede is amazing and I absolutely the dark pink color. The gold and tortoise chain however, I could do without, I think it takes it down a notch in the chic-ness department.

SOFIS COPPOLA & LOUIS VUITTON INTEMPOREL lINE GOES EXOTIC

When you say “Sofia Coppola and Louis Vuitton” you immedtiatelly picture their bags collaboration. How many times have you heard people saying that if they could ever get a Louis Vuitton SC bag (Sofia Coppola) they would keep it forever? I have, and this is the effect you get when you know something is special, unique, intemporel and that’s the case with the SC bags.

The reason? one can say that the craftmanship is amazing and that the leather is so souple but it’s beyond that and It’s impossible to describe why we love it, we just do. It’s maybe because it’s the kind of bag we see ourselves carrying anytime anywhere and more importantly we see ourselves carrying it for years.

In 2009 Sofia Coppola and Louis Vuitton launched this capsule line with one bag style  and a clutch declined in three different material, Calf leather, Suede Calf Leather and the classic Monogram Canvas with vachetta trim.

CHANEL PARIS BYZANCE PRE-FALL 2011 COLLECTION

Tuesday December 7th 2010 – Rue Cambon – Chanel Haute Couture Salons

It was a snowy day yesterday in Paris but the atmosphere in the Chanel Haute Couture salons transported the guests to another era, time and place. This is the Paris Byzance Métiers d’art show, broadcasting CHANEL’s specialist craftsmen “proteges”. These include the ateliers of Desrues the costume jeweler, Lemarié the feather specialist, Lesage the embroiderer, Massaro the shoe-maker, Michel the milliner, Goossens the goldsmith and Guillet the floral accessory specialist. Back in 2002, Karl Lagerfeld dedicated an annual collection to them, whilst also celebrating a city that is part of the House’s history.

This year, for the ninth occasion, he brings us the “Paris Byzance” collection, in keeping with the opening of a second CHANEL boutique in Istanbul.

WHY HASN'T BURBERRY'S READY-TO-WEAR SUCCESS TRANSLATED TO BETTER BAGS

When I saw the Burberry Heart-Studded Satchel for the first time, I had the same internal monologue that I had while flipping through accessories pictures from the brand’s Spring 2011 runway show. It went something like, Really? That’s it? Christopher Bailey can do wonders with every other segment of the brand, but this is all that us handbag folks get?

Sadly, yes, this is all we get. Despite some accessory success several seasons ago and a few nice-yet-completely-unmemorable bags popping up every few months, Burberry’s handbag efforts have left much to be desired for some time now. I can only hope that the best is yet to come and that Bailey will throw us a bone of some sort in the near future. In the meantime, what in the world does he want us to do with this?

FLOPPY 70'S STYLE HATS MANIA

There have been fans of floppy hat for as long women have wanted to shade themselves from the sun. But over the years the style has grown out from its roots as the hat of choice for lounging by the pool and digging in the back yard garden. Because although that style of floppy hat - with its open weave leaving a cute sunshine freckle pattern on the face or dropping down so far that the hat frames the face with fabric- is still popular, it is the winter version of the floppy hat
that is in fashion now.

MIU MIU IN LONDON

A night occurring under the stars but also dedicated to stars, the one devoted to open Miu Miu new flagship store in Bond Street. The venue will lighten up the heart of the London with the gloss of Made in Italy's beauty.

The exclusive dinner, anticipated by an aperitif in 1920' style in the new store - an ex caveau in which clothes magically turn into precious jewelry - took place inside the Lancaster House, an historical location that for one day became Miu Miu's property (also thanks to the contribution of the Oscar awarded Martin Childs who set the stage).

GUCCI’S U-PLAY WATCH TO BENEFIT UNICEF

Gucci continues its commitment to UNICEF with the release of the new U-Play timepiece. 

The watch, which features an interchangeable bezel and bracelet and a silver Guccissima leather design on the strap and bezel, was designed by creative director Frida Giannini to benefit the organization’s  “Schools for Africa” initiative.

LIV TYLER GOES RAW FOR GIVENCHY VERY IRRESISTIBLE L’INTENSE

While other actresses are barely recognizable in certain campaign such as Marion Cotillard for the latest Dior Ad. Liv Tyler appears natural for the Givenchy Very Irresistible L’intense ad campaign.
