PATEK PHILIPPE TIMEPIECE FETCHED $1.91 MILLION, THE HIGHEST AT ONLY WATCH 2011

If you were keeping a check on the Only Watch 2011 auction then you could not have missed the Only Watch Patek Philippe, Genève. The manually wound wristwatch with Minute Repeater and Tourbillon earned the title of fetching the highest bid at the auction. Sporting a unique stainless steel minute repeater, with Tourbillon escapement the watch fetched a staggering €1.4 million ($1.91 million). The watch features a black enamel dial with white gold Breguet numerals, a stainless steel Patek Philippe prong buckle, and three interchangeable stainless steel solid case back. The watch with a 33mm diameter was presented in along with a Certificate of Origin, a certificate of unique piece and a rate accuracy certificate.

Burberry and I have an odd relationship. I find myself lusting after the brand’s ready-to-wear and outerwear every season without fail, and often its boots as well, but my feelings about the British brand’s bags are often a tad…fraught. I have a few favorite days of the year: Christmas, Halloween, the first day of college football and New Prada Day. CONCORD LAUNCHES TWO NEW NEO-BLACK C2 CHRONOGRAPHS

Concord’s new C2 chronographs present the brand’s signature C1 design elements in a slightly smaller package. Where C1 chronographs come in at about 44 x 16.7 mm, the C2 measures a more manageable 43 x 12.75 mm. The prices are also smaller. Despite how underwhelmed I was with the collection’s handbags, I actually have quite a crush of the shoes of Marc Jacobs Spring 2011. Jacobs did something he rarely tends to do (sometimes to his credit, other times to his detriment) – he went with a trend instead of trying to create his own. The result is a group of lovely pointed-toe pumps in various materials and colors, most of which would look sharp when taken immediately off the runway.

As we already discussed in our general review of Diane Von Furstenberg Spring 2012, DVF was all about lightness for spring, much more so than usual, and that choice certainly carried over into the season’s handbags. There are a lot of whites, ivories, lilacs and dove greys to be found among these leather goods, with an occasional shot of emerald or cobalt to make sure that everyone stays awake .
