NEW ROLEX 2012
The Rolex Deep Sea Special watch that accompanied the Trieste to a historic descent of 10,916 (35,800 feet) in the Mariana trench about 52 years back, created quite a stir among watch connoisseurs. Rolex is all set to revive that glory by designing the Deepsea Challenger that goes even deeper than its former counterpart. The magnificent watch is appointed for a special challenge- that of accompanying National Geographic explorer-in-residence James Cameron as part of the expedition. The Deepsea Challenger is designed to go a mammoth 12,000 meters/ 39,370 feet below sea level for which the watchmaker has given it a massive thickness to the case.

Hermès has come out with stunning new diamond-studded miniature totes worth £1.2 million ($1.9 million) each. These miniature totes are set in gold and come studded with thousands of precious stones. But these aren't really bags, as they have been designed as bracelets with the handbag strap resting on the wearer's wrist.
SWIRL AROUND WITH DIOR GRAND BAL RESILLE TIMEPIECE
Designers are always looking for inspiration when designing their next collection. Design house Christian Dior is no exception. They went looking for inspiration in-house for their newest timepiece. Inspired by their 2011 Dior VII Grand Bal collection of watches, they launched the new 2012 Grand Bal Resille. This timepiece is made from white or black hi-tech ceramic offering a high level of robustness. The dial is natural mother-of-pearl and quite betwitching. BURBERRY FALL/WINTER 2012
Trying to match Town and Field themes in Burberry Prorsum Fall/ Winter 2012 collection Christopher Bailey simply failed to do that. The designs which were showcased during the show looked ridiculous. Classic trenches and pencil skirts came with large puffy pockets, white blouses with balloon sleeves looked horrible paired with midi skirts, and even belts decorated with bows looked ugly combined with all these weird-looking pieces (while they looked so cute on pieces from Pre-Fall 2012 range).

MARC JOCOBS BAG COLLECTION 2012
Marc by Marc Jacobs’ runway bags tend not to reveal a great deal about what the entire accessories line will look like when it comes out. For his diffusion line, Jacobs generally only reveals one or two shapes or ideas in the hands of his models; as you all well know by now, the eventual retail line will contain dozens of shapes, sizes and colors in a litany of different sub-lines. Some will be familiar, others will be entirely new, but at least a few of them will throw me into a tizzy, all at a price point that stays under $600.

BULGARI SERPENTI WATCHES
I am not charmed by snakes, but the Bulgari’s Serpenti weaves a rather fascinating story. And in yet another rendition for BaselWorld 2012, the stunning watch doesn’t disappoint. BULGARI PAPILLON VOYAGEUR OFFERS THE BEST OF TWO TIME ZONES
The world is shrinking and people shuttle between continents all the time. Probably this is what urged Bulgari to bring out the new Bulgari Papillon Voyageur, from the Daniel Roth Collection. This is the second watch to feature their patented minutes display system after the Papillon Chronograph in 2010 and sports a dual-time reading technique. The chronograph is simple to decode, the local time is displayed through a vertical aperture at 12 o’clock, which is calibrated around a 24-hour scale. "The dual time-zone indication is provided by a central blued open-worked GMT hand sweeping around a 24-hour graduated guilloché disc and adjusted according to the chosen time zone by means of two push-button respectively situated at 10 o’clock (+) and 2 o’clock (-)." The minutes can be read using the Papillon device, located at the dial centre. The device displays "measured minutes via an ingenious device connected to the bearing disc. The latter performs a complete 360° rotation in two hours, and bears two independent retractable lozenge-shaped hands running in turn over two 180-degree segments."
