I always think it's wonderful to see big name brands and talented designers rising to the challenge of working with animal-friendly materials, and support any attempts to break the myth that leather is the only 'quality' fabric for shoes.
As far as I'm concerned, Stella McCartney is a legend. So it was really heartening to see that Dior had responded to Natalie Portman's pleas for vegan footwear in her campaign for Miss Dior Cherie perfume.
The fashion house created a pair of vegan heels especially for Natalie, which she wears in promotional material for the scent.
It's been suggested that now the animal-loving star has secured a place in Dior's heart, we can expect to see more vegan styles in their portfolio soon. This is good news for those who loved Portman's own vegan Te Casan line, which is sadly no more.
