LOUIS VUITTON OPENS POP UP STORE AT CANNES

The Cannes film festival aims to bring the best of world cinema under a single roof. And a prestigious festival like that often bring around the best glamorous people from a round the globe. And to look your best, you need fashion helping hands. To ease your troubles a bit, Louis Vuitton has put up a “pop up store”, with a Facebook album tagline that reads “The Maison celebrates its attachment to the city of Cannes by unveiling an exceptional custom tailored store in homage to the world of cinema.” Rest assured, the shop offers products for both men and women.

BALECIAGA

Founded in 1918 by the Basque designer Cristobal Balenciaga, the house emerged as one of the great design establishments in the early decades of the twentieth century, and re-emerged around the turn of the new millennium as one of the greats of the twenty-first. Championed alike by actual queens (of Spain and Belgium) and the queens of café society and Hollywood (Babe Paley, Gloria Guinness, Marlene Dietrich), Balenciaga did nothing less than redefine the female silhouette. Throughout the mid-century years, he introduced forms that at first looked awkward or simply unattractive, but, as the eye adjusted, became the latest word in chic: the sack, the baby doll, the balloon skirt, the bracelet sleeve (a 7/8 length that hit just shy of the wrist)..

MIU MIU IN LONDON

A night occurring under the stars but also dedicated to stars, the one devoted to open Miu Miu new flagship store in Bond Street. The venue will lighten up the heart of the London with the gloss of Made in Italy's beauty.

The exclusive dinner, anticipated by an aperitif in 1920' style in the new store - an ex caveau in which clothes magically turn into precious jewelry - took place inside the Lancaster House, an historical location that for one day became Miu Miu's property (also thanks to the contribution of the Oscar awarded Martin Childs who set the stage).
