HUGO BOSS * GIVENCHY * YVES SAINT LAURENT * PERFUME

After the success of Boss Orange for women, Hugo Boss are releasing Boss Orange for Men, a vibrant oriental fragrance that embodies the same carefree, luminous spirit as the original feminine fragrance. Boss Orange for Men is described as capturing the free, optimistic and passionate spirit of masculinity. It is spontaneous and joyful, with laid back charisma and easy confidence. This fragrance is advertised by actor Orlando Bloom and will be available with accompanying after shave balm, deodorant and aftershave splash. The masculine version of Boss Orange will be available for summer 2011.

I am always on the lookout for a good rose perfume so I am very pleased that Givenchy has made the “primal femininity of a rose” the focus for their new Givenchy Very Irresistible L’Intense. This new fragrance has just been announced and it sounds like a beautiful rose fragrance in the luminous spirit of the Givenchy Very Irresistible line. This new fragrance will celebrate the rose, taking it into more voluptuous and radiant territory, with a sensual and rich aroma. It sounds wonderful to me – a little like Givenchy Very Irresistible Sensual but with a darker edge and richer florals.

YSL can be relied upon for elegant, classic fragrances with a contemporary feel. The latest Yves Saint Laurent perfume is no different – Saharienne is named after YSL’s classic safari jacket and it promises to capture the effortless chic and feminine allure of the brand. YSL Saharienne will be launched later this year and it is described as “the hottest of all fresh waters”. This concept translates in to a blend of fresh nuances with hot desert aromas, which sounds reminiscent of Dior’s Dune or Aqua Fahrenheit. Personally I am excited about this Yves Saint Laurent perfume. It sounds like a proper grown up YSL fragrance, with real sophistication and feminine allure, as opposed to overtly ’sexy’ notes and the saccharine notes found in so many hot weather perfumes. I mean just look at the bottle – it has elegant feminine sensuality written all over it.
