KATE SPADE RESORT 2012 IS GIRLY AND GLAM, JUST AS IT SHOULD BE

Kate Spade is a brand with a very specific identity: It makes girly things things that appeal to adult women, and it generally manages to do so without being too precious or saccharine. The company’s last few collections have been particularly successful, and Kate Spade Resort 2012 has debuted to keep the good times rolling.
And roll they do; although there are one or two missteps here that I’m sure you can identify without my help, the pumps and flats are feminine perfection in candy colored satin and patent (not to mention multihued glitter.) Shoes like that have always been Spade’s strong suit, and the company is only getting stronger.

THANKFULLY, NOT ALL OF PRADA FALL 2011 IS FURRY

We’ve already explored the slightly more, uh, tactile elements of Prada Fall 2011, but what about the everyday bags that the brand does so well, year in and year out? Too many pre-orders have sprung up across the Internet for us to feature them all, but here’s a selection of four bags of different styles and leathers that we heartily recommend for purchase in the upcoming months .

FREDERIQUE CONSTANT MANUFACTURE TOURBILLON GRAND FEU

TAG HEUER LINK SMARTPHONE HITS THE MARKET

The brand Tag Heuer is not a new in the mobile market. And after the Meridiist, its time for the watch makers to bring out the Link smartphones to the markets. You can choose between a steel, 18-carat rose gold, or titanium finished case with rubber; calfskin, alligator, lizard or carbon leather trims. Reminding you of the brands chronographic background, the phone sports a crown on the side. Powered by Android 2.2 OS, the phone features a Gorilla Glass screen which protects a 3.5-inch display. The smartphone is also said to be “fully loaded with a host of TAG Heuer add-ons: customized screen designs, widgets, animations, wallpapers, icons and ring tones.”

KRAKOFF RESORT 2012

Although I was somewhat ambivalent about Reed Krakoff’s Spring 2011 shoe collection, I’m a big fan of what the Coach president has coming for Fall 2012 and, as it turns out, an even bigger fan of Reed Krakoff Resort 2012. This group of shoes has the most high-end editorial feel of any of Krakoff’s footwear to date, not to mention that a lot of it is very wearable.
As in, I’d wear it right now. Someone give me those almost-wedges and that pair of royal purple multitextured heels. NOW, I SAY. That’s the hardest thing about resort season: All of these great pieces debut during a time of year when we’d very much be able to wear them, but none of this stuff will hit stores for about six months. That loud sighing noise you just heard was me.

CHRISTIAN DIOR 2011/ 2012

Accessory line in Christian Dior Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collection is all about the vintage luxury. Beret hats with fur pop-poms, colorful kerchiefs, fedora hats, chic necklaces and bracelets, revered iconic Dior bags, leather gloves and beautiful shoes .

LOUIS VUITTON SPRING 2012 MEN'S ACCESSORIES

Normally on Man Bag Monday, we highlight a single men’s accessory that we love. This week, we have the pleasure of bringing you detailed shots of the accessories from the recent Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 runway show, from the bags all the way down to the shoes.
There are also some scarves and watches thrown in for good measure, but as with the Vuitton’s women’s shows, the leather goods are the real stars of the show. And predictably, they’re excellent: Sharp and modern with a strong base in traditional design, which is exactly the type of thing that men go for on the luxury mass market. There’s a reason that Vuitton continues to grow by leaps and bounds every year; the brand knows its customers. Check out all 20 pictures after the jump.

ANTONIA,DORTE & ONDRIA FOR PRADA F/W 11

For those of you who weren’t busy trying to convince in your best, albeit broken Italian those very tall, unsympathetic men in bespoke suits standing outside places like the Metropol that you really were supposed to be on the other side of the proverbial velveteen rope, the new Prada F/W 11 campaign by Steven Meisel featuring Ford’s Antonia Wesseloh, Dorte Limkilde, and Ondria Hardin won’t likely be a headline you’d associate with hashtag breaking news on a popular microblogging service.

THE NEW PIAGET COLLECTION FEATURES TIMELESS TIMEPIECES

Piaget is in back with a bang, and not just with one watch, it has three options that you can pick from this time around, from the Piaget Polo collection. First up is the Piaget Polo FortyFive, which is set in pink gold and titanium. The watch sports a “darkest black” rubber strap that is mellowed down by pink gold godroons and a soothing bezel and dial set in the same precious metal. The watch sport an 855P self-winding mechanical movement that also powers a perpetual calendar that will run spot on till the year 2100. The ultra thin watch measures 5.6 mm, and features a 45 mm diameter case akin to the 45-minute time period of a polo match. The watch comes with 100-meter water resistance and features a pink gold buckle with an adaptable summer/winter clasp.

MARC JACOBS DABBLES IN COLORBLOCKING FOR RESORT 2012

When was the last time you looked at a Marc Jacobs bag and thought, “Whoa, that’s a great bag?” Sometime around the entré of the Stam, right? Well that’s exactly what I said, out loud, by myself, to my computer in sudden fit of excitement when I saw the colorblocked satchel at top left from Marc Jacobs Resort 2012. I mean, that’s a good bag, right? My level of enthusiasm for that design has left me confused and excited.
I mean, let’s be real here; most handbag addicts can spot a Marc Jacobs bag from a mile away, and whether or not that’s a good thing depends on how much you like the designs that Jacobs puts out every year. They often don’t vary much from what we’ve seen before except for a runway bag or two, and there are certainly some repeats in this group, but the new stuff looks fresher and more exciting than it has in more than a few seasons. Let’s hope that this is but a small preview of the accessories to come in the brand’s Spring 2012 presentation. More photos after the jump.

This brown bag comes with a golden and tortoise chain linked adjustable shoulder strap. The signature double F ornament is the only loud part in the whole set up making it a bag that can easily be carried around at subtle as well as not too subtle gatherings. It will cost you $1,590.

MARC BY MARC JACOBS EMBRACES NEON FOR RESORT 2012

Why hasn’t Marc by Marc Jacobs done more neon bags before now? The world may never know. It seems like the brand’s young, hip client base would have been the perfect people to embrace the trend early and often, but MbMJ has so far relegated its fluorescents to trim and accents. But no longer – Marc by Marc Jacobs Resort 2012 looks like it’s going to be full of Day Glo neon goodness.
We only have a couple of pictures to show you, but they’re worth a look. The clear winner of this small group is the black and highlighter yellow clutch at the top, and I’ve already mentally moved $350 from my checking account to my savings account to wait for its debut. If only it weren’t going to be six months. Two more shots after the jump.
